GIFConverter is shareware. That means that you can use GIFConverter and make sure it suits your needs before you pay for it, just by clicking OK in the reminder screen without entering anything. You're allowed to evalute GIFConverter for 15 days, then I request that you either register, or discard the program. GIFConverter is neither crippled nor time locked; the only thing you have to put up with if you don't register is the reminder box. You're on your honor.
When you register GIFConverter, you receive a key that removes the reminder. Optionally, you can receive a diskette with the latest version as well as a printed manual.
What does it cost to register?
GIFConverter Registration is $30, which gets you the license key that removes the reminder. This new, lower cost option is currently only available through the Kagi shareware registration service. (It may be available through CompuServe SWREG in the future.)
GIFConverter with Disk and Manual is $40 plus shipping. Shipping is $5 in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, and $10 elsewhere internationally. You can order this version through Kagi, CompuServe SWREG, or through regular mail.
I also have quantity prices; see my web page or send me E-mail for information or to request a quote. The Kagi registration program automatically calculates reduced-quantity pricing depending on the quantity ordered.
What does it cost to upgrade?
Nothing, provided you download the new version. You can use your registration key to remove the reminder on any version of GIFConverter that starts with 2. Note that I haven't gone to version 3; at present I do not plan on increasing prices or charging for upgrades at this point.
It's cheaper to upgrade by downloading, even if you have to pay to be connected. Write me for information about purchasing upgrade diskettes or manuals.
How do I register via Kagi?
I prefer that users register with Kagi if at all possible. Kagi takes Cash, Check, Visa, American Express, MasterCard, NetCash and First Virtual. To register through Kagi, double-click the Register 1.1.6 kam program (the one with the dollar-sign icon). Select a payment method and fill out the form. The register program automatically gives price breaks for quantity orders.
If you're using a credit card, NetCash or First Virtual, you can copy the registration information (with the Copyﾉ button), and paste it into an email message.
If you're sending cash or a check, or you don't want to use email, save and/or print out the form from within Kagi and mail it to them.
Information about mail addresses to use and payees for a check appear on the copied or printed forms.
Illinois customers: I have to pay sales tax for the purchase whether or not you send it to me. Please add local sales tax in the 'Bonus' box.
Kagi will e-mail a confirmation. This will be followed shortly by email from me with the key, and after that, you will receive a paid invoice in the mail from me (along with a disk and a manual if you paid for them).

How do I register via CompuServe SWREG?
To register on CompuServe, go keyword SWREG. Choose "Register Shareware." You'll be asked which region of the world you are in. Choose one. Search for keyword GIFCONVERTER; if the low price option becomes available there, it will appear in the search.
How do I register by mail?
Click the "Print Order Form" button in the reminder screen, fill it in, and send it in with payment. Or, send $45 ($50 outside of North America), payable in US funds on a US bank to:

How long does it take?
For e-mail notifications, responses should come within a week, except for when I am on vacation. For mailed materials, allow four to six weeks for delivery.
Do you take foreign checks?
No, sorry. Due to the high processing fees, I do not take foreign checks, and please do not send them to Kagi on my behalf. Checks must be in US Dollars drawn on a bank in the USA. International customers might want to consider using Kagi and sending a credit card number, or registering online with CompuServe.
Is documentation online?
Yes. In most places where you find GIFConverter, you should also find the documentation. The current revision of documentation is available in Acrobat format.
Acrobat documentation also comes on the GIFConverter diskette that's sent out.
